Anunnual Youth Fishing Derby

Spring is here, you feel it in the air and you see it on the trees. The sun shines and with its arrival brings Fort Hunter Liggett's annual Youth Fishing Derby. The 16th annual Youth Fishing Derby will also commemorate the birthday of the Army Reserve. The Army Reserve has provided service to the Army and the Nation for 110 years. Evolving from a small corps of medical professionals to a globally positioned and engaged operation reserve force.

During this time of celebration, Family and MWR cordially invites the Fort Hunter Liggett community and our neighboring communities to join us for our Youth Fishing Derby this upcoming April 14, 2018 from 6:00 - 12:00. Like prior years, the fishing derby will be hosted at Del Venturi Reservoir.

During the fishing derby youth fifteen of age and under will be able to fish for free and will not require a California or Fort Hunter Liggett fishing license. The event will be open to the public and surrounding communities are encouraged to participate. There will be complimentary barbecue as well as refreshments available for everyone to enjoy. There will also be a contest for the biggest fish caught!
